Roulette Layout Differences

The game of roulette today is available in many versions and this means that players must first decide on the specific type of roulette they are willing to play first in order to avoid disappointments during or after the game has ended. The game of roulette has 3 main variations and these are American, European and French roulettes. The roulette layout in each of these variants is different and makes a lot of difference in terms of winnings. For example the American roulette consists of 38 slots that consist of numbers from 1 to 36 and two zero pockets namely 0 and 00 while the European and the French roulettes have 37 slots that consist of numbers 1 to 36 and a single zero (0) slot.

The roulette layout in all of these roulette variants provides players with two options of making bets and that is inside and outside bets. The roulette layout in American, French and European tables are usually the same and one of the significant differences is the extra zero (00) slot. Due to the extra (00) slot and various other factors the house edge of each of these three roulette variants will be different and so it is important for players especially beginners to find out the house edge of each of these three roulette variants before they start playing as this will avoid misunderstandings while playing as well as after the game ends.

The French roulette layout is also a bit different from the other roulette as it is slightly wider and at the same time there no individual coloured chips for players. French roulette also uses cash strips which the other roulette variants do not use. The French roulette layout is also written in French compared to other roulette variants that are in English. French roulette also uses a dealer with a stick as well as a stickman when playing and announcing the winning numbers, collecting the chips from the table and when paying the winners. With all these activities included in the roulette game, it will mean that the French roulette game is a bit slower compared to the American roulette game.

The inside and outside bets of each of the three major variants of roulette may also different and this mainly depends on how the game is played. Inside bets usually include the letters A to E and numbers from 1 to 6 while the outside bets usually include letter from F to J and 12 numbers. It is also important to take a look at the regular table layouts of each of these three roulette variants and if possible play all of them to identify the one you are most comfortable with. Keep in mind that the French roulette table is in French so if you don’t understand the language you will be better off playing at the table that you understand.
